Fall of the Ottoman Empire, August 11, 1840
On a day like today, August 11, history caught up with prophecy in the year 1840, the date of the fall of the [Turkish] Ottoman Empire. The exact fulfillment of this prophecy proves to the world that God exists, that His word is sure [2 Peter 1:19-21], "that heaven governs" the destinies of this world [Daniel 4:26]; that He has left us a series of signs or milestones in time [Matthew 24:3-27]: that "one day He will return [Acts 1-9-11]"; that this world will be destroyed and renewed [2 Peter 3:10]; and that He will "establish a kingdom that will never be destroyed" [Daniel 2:44]; where "there shall be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying, nor pain" (Revelation 21:4].
