Confession time—I missed yesterday's video, breaking my commitment to share 20 consecutive videos on staying motivated in our acting and filmmaking journeys.
For the next 20 days, I'm committing to sharing videos about how to up your acting game. Each day we'll talk for a bit about important steps for you to be taking as you grow your careers. I know these things work because they're things that I stopped doing at some point and immediately saw the negative effects in my aspirations when I stopped.
When we hit a wall, there are two ways to push through:
Partial Progress Matters: Don't let the pressure of achieving the full goal stop you from doing part of it. If the goal is 20 minutes of reading, grabbing those 5 minutes still contributes positively to your growth, improving your vocabulary and familiarity with books.
Shift Focus: If the specific goal seems unattainable, shift your focus to a small, achievable task. Wash dishes, tidy up, or accomplish something unrelated. Achieving this smaller goal can rekindle your motivation, reinforcing your belief in your abilities.
Join me, hold me accountable, and let's learn together about refocusing and achieving our goals. See you tomorrow for more!
