I have a story Iโd like to share and think itโs important to learn from otherโs experiences.
Fair warningโฆit does not have a happy ending.
It was 2018, and there was someone who wanted to buy their first home in Pasadena.
Her budget was $650K, which was feasible at that time.
We looked at many houses.
One day we went to see a beautifully remodeled home.
She mentioned to me that she had seen this house a couple years ago, and that it was listed in the high $400K range at that time.
She couldnโt believe how โexpensiveโ it was now and that she didnโt think that it was worth it.
The house ended up selling for over the $650K listed price.
Frustrated, she said that she was afraid she was going to pay too much for a house and that she was going to take a break.
This is what she did in 2016, previous to us meeting as well.
Today, in 2023, that house is worth over $800K.
If she would have bought that house the 1st time she saw it in 2016, she would have earned so much equity by now!
Moral of the story is that real estate always cycles up and down through the years, but in the long term, it always gains value over time.
