Basset Hound Tricks - Barkley The Basset - First Training Session EVER!
MANY people ask me "how do you train a basset". I don't feel that I train but "ask" for behaviors that he naturally already knows. This was the VERY FIRST time Barkley used his training gates and tried circle and around. As you can see this was quite a success in shaping for him. Using a clicker and food reward, he worked quite well. At the end you will see after the gates are removed that we used the behavior for going around a lantern for a Sherlock Holmes routine we eventually did.
