The Peppermint Stick Insect - a chemical blaster
The Peppermint Stick Insect (Megacrania batesii) is a remarkable Australian phasmid. It has an unusual chemical defense. It squirts a peppermint smelling liquid through two nozzles behind its head at predators. The liquid smells nice but burns in contact with eyes and other sensitive areas.
