NEW APP - NATIVE Xbox Cloud Gaming on Nintendo Switch?! | Green-NX
Xbox Cloud Gaming is now running through a native homebrew client on the original Nintendo Switch — no Android, no Linux, and no PC or Xbox secretly streaming in the background.
In this video, I test Green-NX, an open-source Xbox Cloud Gaming client built specifically for Nintendo Switch homebrew.
I go through the installation and Microsoft login process, test the available streaming quality settings, check input latency and image quality, compare handheld and docked mode, monitor Switch hardware usage, and test how well it performs during actual gameplay.
Games tested include DOOM: The Dark Ages, Forza Horizon 6, Indiana Jones, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Halo.
IMPORTANT:
Green-NX does NOT run Xbox games locally using the Nintendo Switch hardware. The games are still running remotely through Xbox Cloud Gaming. Green-NX is the native Switch application responsible for authentication, receiving and decoding the video stream, processing controller inputs, audio, and displaying everything through Horizon OS.
For my testing I used:
• Original Nintendo Switch / Switch OLED
• Atmosphère custom firmware
• Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
• Green-NX
• 5 GHz Wi-Fi
• 1080p HQ streaming preset
• No CPU or GPU overclocking
I also tested performance using a mobile hotspot to see how practical Xbox Cloud Gaming can be away from a normal home Wi-Fi connection.
Green-NX is still experimental and unofficial. It is not affiliated with Microsoft or Nintendo. Cloud Gaming availability, supported games, streaming quality, subscriptions, and supported regions can vary depending on your account, location, network connection, and proximity to Microsoft's servers.
