01:30 – Installing Blender

In this video, we start by guiding you to the Blender website to download the latest stable release of the software. We walk you through the installation process for different operating systems, including Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Once Blender is installed, we introduce you to the initial settings that can be updated at any time in the preferences. We discuss language settings, shortcut options, selection width, spacebar functionality, and theme selection. We emphasize that these settings can be updated in user preferences at any time.

We then delve into the preferences menu, discussing various tabs such as the interface, input, navigation, and system tabs. We highlight useful settings like resolution scale, emulating a three-button mouse, orbiting around selection, auto perspective, zoom to mouse position, and the number of undo steps.

Remember, Blender automatically saves any changes made in preferences, so your settings will be saved for future sessions. We encourage you to save your files often and incrementally.
