The Seals of Blakeney Point
The Atlantic grey seal colony on the National Trust's Blakeney Point, North Norfolk is now the largest in England with over 4500 pups expected this winter.
I took a walk along the Point from Cley beach carpark to film & photograph the seals but couldn't even get all the way onto the end of the Point due to the huge numbers of seals covering the paths & access. A absolute triumph for nature when so many species are suffering losses.
I was lucky enough to find one pup which must have been born that afternoon - still wet & with the afterbirth lying nearby.
All shots were taken on a 600mm zoom lens equivalent (using the APS-C/Pixel -Pixel setting on the Panasonic Lumix S5II with the Canon 100-400mm lens and an extender at some points.
