Welcome to the Time Graphics tutorial

Today we will see how you can create a timeline from Google Spreadsheet.

I want to show you my example. Its a Nintendo history timeline and all of these events were created in one google spreadsheet. let's see how it works.

So on your timeline you click here and choose Google and click Import from Google Spreadsheet.

Then you need to create a copy of template. So you click here and make a copy.

Now you have this template.I created mineand I want to explain to you all the values you need to put here

So first two columns are dates this is the start date and end date of event or time period.

When you put the date you put year month date. you can also add time.

If you need to put duration for the time period for example for 2 weeks you just put w2 in second column.

If your time peroid hasn't finished yet and still continues you just put @ at the end.

Then you need to put the title.String means that you put any text here.

In description the same you need to put text.

Then you need to paste direct link to the image you want to use.

You can also insert youtube video or vimeo link.

Then you need to choose the position of your event or period. Top means above the timeline bottom means under the timeline.

Then you need to choose the type.

If you are not very familiar with time graphics you need to create several events and see how it looks

For example.time period design can be rect, rect_approx, smallrect, brace etc. Which means that if you create new time period. all these values here choose design

For example rect_approx is this one.

Brace means this.

So I already put different values for design here as you can see.

Then you need to choose the color.

This is the background color and this is the text color.

To pick the color choose the color picker. Find the color you need and copy value.

And then you paste it here.

When you done putting all the data you need to click share. Get shareable link. Copy link and then on the timeline choose Google - Import Spreadsheet, paste your link and click ok...

Then you need to crop all the images.

Now as you can see I created my timeline using single Google Spreadsheet. It's very comfortable and can save you a lot of time.
