Real Mummified Head Cut in Half Up Close
One creepy oddity, a look at a real dissected human head of a 1900's serial killer on display, rotating around for a full close-up view. This mummified head belonged to the serial killer Peter Kurten, known as the Vampire of Dusseldorf. He gained this title as he would drink the blood of his victims.
This real bisected vampire head is on display in Wisconsin Dells at the Ripley's museum. Peter Kurten was sentenced to the guillotine on July 2nd, 1932 when he was 48 years old, for the murder of nine people. Before dying he also confessed to many more gruesome acts of violence, starting as early as the age of 9 when he committed his first murder.
Due to his crimes being so extreme, scientists cut his head down the middle looking to examine his brain. Hoping to find anamolies, they found only a normal and healthly looking brain. What remains was kept for education, reasearch, and a chilling display!
