The Writer - Interactive Film Poster
This project was part of my dissertation. It consists of the usual still poster image we see at the cinema foyer, but this time it is displayed on a screen instead of printed. The poster stays still until a person passes in front of the screen. This is when the poster becomes interactive. The interaction happens when the still image transforms into a short moving image/video clip. This short video clip can connect the actors on the poster to the person passing by. The idea behind this project is to attract a larger audience to the cinema industry.
Here in this preview video the project is not fully functional. The software used to make the interactive film posters work is 'Media Zone Trigger Pro' [ http://www.zonetrigger.com/ ] by Omega Unfold Inc. which is a Canadian R&D software company that specializes in PC based end-user applications. This specific software works by using a computer desktop and a web camera. The software settings are set up, so that when the camera detects motion, it turns into interaction.
The film poster was created specifically for the dissertation and it is not a real film poster.
