Enjoy a weekend in the Ukrainian Carpathians, with the ultimate goal of climbing Mount Hoverla, the highest point in Ukraine. Vorokhta serves as the starting point for most hikers. This charming mountain town is known for its well-preserved stone viaducts and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
The hike to Hoverla 2,061 meters (6,762 feet) begins in an area of dense conifer forests, with winding streams and mountain rivers. As we ascend into the Alpine Tundra zone, the vegetation becomes sparser, revealing even more spectacular views. The final stretch of the climb takes us through clouds, leading to the summit. From the top, the panoramic view of the Chornohora Mountain Range is breathtaking, regardless of the weather.
