I don't know how this works on Slims but I heard people have problems with this on Slims. I will answer any questions I can about soft modding a fat using this method.
According to the internet, the AR MAX is the Evo edition. Now, I don't recall the disc or box ever saying Evo but it has the ability to read flash drives and advertised playing ROMS although it seemed to be only Genesis Roms.
