Keith Cooper looks at which calibration software you should use when setting up a high end hardware calibrated monitor with a second laptop or more basic monitor.

The key thing to remember is that they simply won't look exactly the same.

Using an X-Rite i1Display or Datacolor SpyderX it's important to use the right software for the right display.

High end monitors such as the BenQ SW2700 shown here have hardware calibration which uses their own software with external colorimeters. These same colorimeters can be used with the manufacturers' software on other basic screens.
