In the Special Issue "Uncovering Developmental Diversity", Vanessa Barone, Antonio Tagua, Luis Escudero and colleagues use the sea star embryogenesis as a model of a proliferating epithelium to highlight how cell division induces 3D cell rearrangements during development.

This video shows a confocal time-lapse video of the vegetal vide of a Patiria miniata wild type embryo. The embryo is expressing a membrane marker (mYFP, yellow) and a nuclear marker (n-CFP, cyan) imaged between the 32- and 2000-cell stages.
