Confirmed bachelor Edgar is obsessed with logic. In conversations with his best friend, a marble bust of Kant, Edgar expresses disdain for people who experience inexplicable events. True to his motto, "Every man is the architect of his own fortune," he considers failure to be the lot of fools. He believes that anyone who suffers misfortune is to blame for it. But one day, he is visited by a very strange angel—the Angel of the Unexplained. The angel sends Edgar on a bizarre path of self-correction, full of miracles and coincidences.
The cartoon is based on Edgar Allan Poe's short story, "The Angel of the Unexplained."
