Welcome to my updated mobility aid tour! In this video, I’m sharing the wheelchairs, rollators, and other tools that help me navigate life with chronic illness and disability. I talk through all the aids I have used over the past 8 years and why I used it, and how each item supports my mobility and pacing. Lots of us need Different aids for different days so I wanted to share that there isn't one perfect aid for everyone and you may need different options for different activities. Each one of these aids has given me so much freedom & independence at each stage of my journey. Accepting that you need mobility aids can be so tough when the world is so ableist & inaccessible but it is also freeing and has allowed me to do so much more. I hope this video gives you ideas for getting cheap or free mobility aids & decorating them to suit your personality as well as shows the differences between handle types for canes & which powered aid is best for what you need.
