"Devotees consuming beef tallow in the temple prasadam is beyond disgusting," Sadhguru said, emphasizing that only those with deep devotion can maintain the sacredness of these spaces. He pointed out that temples, which hold profound spiritual significance for millions, should not be managed by bureaucrats with no connection to the faith. “Where there is no devotion, there shall be no sanctity,” he added, stressing the need for spiritual integrity in temple leadership.
Sadhguru’s remarks are part of a broader critique of state-run temples in India, where government-appointed administrators often manage operations, finances, and rituals. According to Sadhguru, this approach is flawed and has led to incidents like the contamination of *prasadam*, a sacred offering consumed by devotees as a blessing.

"It's time the Hindu temples are run by devout Hindus, not by government administration," he asserted, urging for a shift back to devotee-led leadership to preserve the sanctity and devotion that define these sacred institutions.
