Madison Pump Station Computational Modeling
IIHR’s Marcela Politano and Troy Lyons performed computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling of the Madison (Wis.) Metropolitan Sewerage District’s new Pumping Station 15, focusing on the pump station's interior and the complex geometry of the wet well pit and pumps. With this modeling, researchers were able to identify potential issues with vortices, recirculation, etc.
