The Flawless Art Direction of Mirror's Edge Catalyst
Mirror's Edge and Mirror's Edge Catalyst are some of my favourite videogames ever, and it's mostly JUST because of the presentation. I took a critical look, based on my own observation and very minimal research as to what is so appealing about Catalyst in particular.
Mirror's Edge (2008) obviously has it's own iconic look that Catalyst (2016) deviates from, but in my opinion, these deviations are primarily for the better. I felt the tone/ vibe of the game was better emphasised through Catalyst's graphical style and in-game architecture, its music, and character design.
As an aspiring artist/ comic creator myself, I specifically made this video with the intention of learning lessons from the game to apply to my own work.
