One of the contested and controversial theme of the Gospel is the deity of Jesus.
While the deity of Christ is clearly presented by the Gospel writers, several arguments have been put forward by those from within and outside of the faith against this submission.
One of such arguments especially from those without was that the synoptic Gospel as against the Johannine Gospel does not present Jesus as God but as an ordinary man. They went further to claim that since John is the last Gospel to be written, it contains an elevated status of Jesus from man to God.
How true is this argument? Is it true that the synoptic Gospel (Matthew, Mark and Luke) does not present Jesus as God but mere man?
