In this video it is the turn of the hungry trainee ninja mouse, to see if it can get to the food and escape from the trap. I could tell that this mouse was hungry, because of how it seemed to be eager to pick up the food, that I had left around the trap as an enticer. This mouse did not do any ninja moves on the way into the trap, but it did try a few once the trap had been activated.
I was getting a bit fed up with how it was hard to carry the drawer trap, so I decided to come up with my own design which was easier to carry. I also made sure that it still had the standard magnetic confinement and that the trap door actuator was internal, so that it would be easier to put the trap nearer to things. I had also upgraded the wiring, so that I would not have any problems with the connections coming loose. The trap door is also actuated by my original magnetic acceleration technique, which you probably won't find on any of the expensive cheap Chinese traps. I also designed a magnetic escape hatch onto the back of it, in order to make it a lot easier to release the mouse from the trap. The circuit was switched from an Arduino Nano, to an ATTINY 85 which allows for a smaller circuit board and I have also included a diagnostic mode in the firmware, that I can use to test the operation of the trap.
