Kia ora Team,
Spoiler alert
This is unstable angina which is part of acute coronary syndrome
An atherosclerotic plaque ruptures in a coronary artery. This exposes the necrotic / lipid core and a thrombus (blood clot) is formed.
The thrombus further decreases the size of the lumen of the coronary artery and causes a partial occlusion.
This leads to ischaemia of the affected part of the myocardium (heart muscle) and therefore pain (angina).
Blood cardiac troponin tests will be negative because there is no infarction (cell death)
Happy studying,
Ben
