FWRI scientists stocked approximately 28,000 phase-1 juvenile red drum into the Alafia River. These 36-day old fish were 1.4 inches in length with an average weight of 0.75 gram and were produced at the FWC Stock Enhancement Research Facility in Manatee County. A boat was used to stock the fish in the natural nursery habitat of wild red drum away from the effects of red tide.
