Space Marines always struck me as deeply isolated, lonely figures. The Astartes ascend to become demigods but lose a part of their themselves. So, I wanted to write a short story about a Space Marine coming back to his humanity through the time-honoured human ritual of smoking a lho-stick and wondering what the hell you're doing with your life.
