This is a mod that adds custom , procedural , planetary rings to the planets of No Mans Sky.The planetary rings are all made of custom, procedurally created asteroids. Every asteroid in the ring is procedural, the Rings themselves are also procedurally generated using a custom ring generator, created by me.

This is a concept mod, showing how "realistic" planetary rings might look like if its added to No Mans Sky in the 1.4/1.5 NEXT update and how cool it would be to drift/fly by the asteroid field of the ring.

some features of the planetary rings shown in the video:
1) every planetary ring is unique and procedural.
2) the entire planetary ring can be made to rotate ,along with the planet , incase planetary rotation gets added in the future updates to the game
3) each and every single asteroid in the ring can be made to randomly, individually drift/move/rotate easily with a few tweaks, to make it more realistic.
4)various ring sizes are also possible, the asteroid density can be increased even more to create more dense planet rings.

features 2 and 3 , although possible and tested ingame, are not implemented since it is more computationally intensive and creates a decrease in fps.

the collisions have been turned off for the asteroids for now. but than can be changed in the future.

i would like to thank my friend for recording the video and also monkeyman192 for creating mbincompiler and giving a few ideas for the mod concept.

fun fact: there is a option in the No Mans Sky exe called "asteroid rings", so its not entirely out of the possibility to get realistic planet rings made of asteroids and icy rocks in the 1.4/1.5 NEXT update or updates there after. so the game does have a option to create planet rings like this coded into the exe, although not yet used.
