All Quiet on The Western Front 1979; Paul Baumer Tribute
Tribute to the protagonist of the remake of the 1930 film All Quiet on The Western Front. There are three versions of this film the original 1930s version which is based on the book of the same name written before it. The 1979 version and the 2022 version, I saw all the versions and the 1979 version is my favorite one. This tribute honors the fictional character Paul Baumer, an 18 yr old who enlists in the German army in 1915 to fight in WW1 against the French. Paul experiences the horrors of warfare by witnessing his classmates die and becomes a changed person, detached from his feelings.
