The San Sebastián Street Festival, also known as the Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián, is one of the most popular and iconic festivals in Puerto Rico. It takes place annually in Old San Juan, typically in January. The festival has its origins in the mid-20th century when a group of locals decided to celebrate the feast day of Saint Sebastian, the patron saint of athletes, by organizing a small street fair. Over the years, the festival grew in size and popularity, evolving into a vibrant cultural extravaganza featuring live music, dancing, food, crafts, and parades. Today, it attracts thousands of visitors from around the world and is considered a highlight of Puerto Rico's cultural calendar.
