This movie describes the scenario of the use of the workflow paradigm between a algorithmic expert, a biologist and a bioinformatician: it starts with a research question, for which an algorithmic expert can write a script (Java code in this case), turn that into a Web Service (SOAP here), and publish that on biocatalogue.org. A bioinformatician can use services on biocatalogue as components in a workflow tool (Taverna), and build a sophisticated workflow, which by itself can be published on myExperiment. Workflows on myExperiment can be made available to the biologist via a simple Web Form. Workflows thus provide a prototyping solution for collaborating bioinformaticians and biologists.
