Stimos
Stimos started as a backwater trading post and has grown into
one of eastern Tharda’s most productive centers. The town
is situated on the western bank of the Pech River where the
estuary empties into Mettur Bay on Lake Benath; virtually all
commerce with other settlements in the Republic is carried
by boat across the lake. Stimos lies truly on the frontier, and
most of the region is trackless woodland. It has the fewest cultivated acres
of any district in Kom Province, and no roads connecting it to the rest of
the province. Natural resources exist in abundance here, and fortunes can be
made by those willing to brave the risks of the region’s rugged wilderness.
