Delayed PLAR with Cisco IP Phone 7800 and 8800 Series
This video is a short demonstration and overview of a new safety feature called Delayed PLAR in firmware version 14.1(1). PLAR stands for Private Line Automatic Ring-down. Normally, PLAR immediately dials a number as soon as you go off hook. With this new feature of Delayed PLAR, the phone will wait 15 seconds before invoking PLAR. During that 15 seconds, the phone line can be used as a normal line. This 15 second default timer can be adjusted from 0 to 150 seconds.
