While exploring Georgian cuisine, we've reached the letter "Ch." We've already mastered chakapuli and chakhokhbili. Today, we'll try chashushuli with Georgian cognac.
It's a thick beef and tomato soup. Naturally, it'll feature hot peppers, plenty of onions and garlic, walnuts, pomegranate, and cilantro.
We'll be drinking the five-year-old "Tiflis Treasure" cognac, which we purchased at Dixy for 700₽/0.50 rubles.
The drink is 100% Georgian, distilled in Kakheti from the local Rkatsiteli. The aroma is austere, with woody and fruity notes.
However, the taste is exceptionally soft and pleasant. The ingredients list a reasonable 1.5 grams of sugar.
The chashushuli was moderately spicy and rich. And the cognac turned out to be an excellent digestif. The half liter was consumed unexpectedly quickly and with great pleasure. Next time, it would be interesting to try the 7- or 8-year-old Treasure.
