Session Topic: Design optimization of soft wearable assistive devices
Session Outline: In the past decade, there has been a steady rise in the design of wearable assistive robots using completely soft materials. By virtue of their compactness, and their ability to conform to the human body, these devices act as functional garments rather than the heavy, rigid devices we imagine when we think of robots. In this talk, I will briefly introduce this topic, and then discuss some of my research in this domain.

Speaker: Sagar Joshi
Speaker's Bio: Sagar Joshi did his Bachelors from Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Mumbai, and his Masters from IIT Bombay. He then conducted his doctoral studies in Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, where his thesis was on the "Design and dynamic analysis of soft pneumatic systems for wearable robots". Currently, he works as a postdoctoral researcher in the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), and his research is on the design, modelling, and optimization of exosuits for the human upper arm.
