Hello Geospatial Enthusiast!

Have you wondered why the imagery visualization in Google Earth Engine is quite bland? Different when using other desktops GIS & Remote Sensing programs such as QGIS, ArcGIS, ENVI, Idrisi, Erdas, etc.

Check the script here: https://code.earthengine.google.com/7...

Turns out, when visualizing imagery in GEE, you need to define the minimum and the maximum to show yourself. In contrast, in other software, the minimum and the maximum of each band will be calculated automatically.

In this video, I will show you how to copy that method in Google Earth Engine. We will calculate the min and max of each band that will be visualized using reduceRegion and scale the image value to that value. Then we just show the image to the map.

The motivation behind this is that with this visualization, it is easier to interpret the difference between land use and land cover with a striking contrast between classes.

I hope this video helps.
