자동화된 세상에 맞춰 어떻게 의사를 교육할 것인가? (2025.5)

Abstract
The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence in healthcare presents significant challenges for medical education, creating a paradox of preparing students for an AI-augmented future while preserving essential clinical competencies. Drawing on Bainbridge's "Ironies of Automation" framework, this perspective review proposes strategies to guide medical curriculum development in the era of generative AI. We advocate for preserving core competencies by strategically timing AI integration and redesigning assignments to prevent premature cognitive offloading, alongside emphasizing vigilance and AI literacy to help students recognize AI limitations like medical hallucinations and biases. Education should also be reoriented toward uniquely human aspects of care that AI cannot replicate, such as ethical reasoning and empathic communication, and incorporate simulation-based training for AI failure scenarios to develop students' intervention capabilities. Using current large language models as practical examples, this framework offers medical educators a proactive approach to prepare physicians who can effectively leverage AI while maintaining critical human elements, ensuring educational evolution occurs alongside technological advancement by utilizing the "preview window" of current AI tools to develop necessary metacognitive skills for physician-AI collaboration.
