We follow the example of our Great Teacher, Sammāsambuddha Gotama.
When he was still Prince Siddhattha,
he cut his own hair,
as a prelude to renouncing worldly life,
to attain freedom from suffering.
Today, we too cut our hair;
We resolve and strive to the best of our ability,
to truly live the ascetic life,
in the Dhamma and Vinaya taught by Sammāsambuddha Gotama.
We beg our Venerable Teachers,
to always guide us.
Sadhu… sadhu… sadhu
