MIC Burny Les Paul Special
Overall construction - excellent
Body - 3 piece mahogany
Neck - slim / 60s style / C shape
Finish - poly / transparent / flawless
Board - Laurel, looks like Rosewood
Frets - nicely leveled / no sharp ends
Playability - nice low action/no buzz
Tuners - feels flimsy and cheap
Nut - plastic but well-cut
Bridge - Intonatable and feels solid. I will still swap with a simple wrap-around purely for aesthetics.
Pickups - Neck is microphonic. Bridge is usable. Both are voiced warm (or some may think muddy). I will probably replace.
Electronics - Dime-sized pots though it is well soldered and taper is decent. Jack/3-way toggleswitch are standard import parts.
Pleasantly surprised with this one. Overall, very comparable to an Epiphone in quality, though I think the Epiphone has better pickups/electronics. This one does look a lot better IMO, due to the Gibson style headstock. Overall fit, finish and playability are excellent. Definitely a keeper!
