Beneath The Surface - Crime Short Film
A crime drama short film based on undercover detectives who track down two suspects in whom they believe are connected to the disappearance of a young lady. After many failed attempts to capture the killer, Detective Marc (played by Ruggero Barlaba) and Detective Woods (played by Brandon Falzon) have finally trimmed down their search to two dangerous suspects Dario (Played by Freddie Brandon Cross) and Harrison (played by Will D’Avino).
However they are not the only ones looking for Harrison and Dario. A ‘friend’ of the lady is also desperate for results. Anil (Played by Yasin Khan) runs into trouble on his quest for redemption.
By the end of their search, Harrison and Anil learn that not everything is what it seems. There are many lies beneath the surface.
When writing this short film, we were inspired from films such as ‘Se7en’ and ‘Prisoners’. We shot this in our hometown Wimbledon as it gave us a plethora of interesting locations that matched the vibe we were going for.
Although we have labelled this as a crime drama, we would certainly implement aspects of thriller if this were to be a longer short film/web series.
