Mechanism of #Cannizzaro reaction in detail. Cannizzaro reaction occurs in those aldehydes which do not contain alpha hydrogen. This reaction is carried out in highly basic medium. One molecule of aldehyde is oxidised at cost of other i.e. one molecule is oxidized and other is reduced. Such reactions in which one molecule is oxidised and other is reduced are called #disproportionation reactions . This reaction involves a very interesting phenomenon i.e.# hydrideiontransfer which is seen rarely in organic Chemistry. All these aspects have been covered in this video. I hope students will enjoy . This video in English language will be uploaded in near future. Feedback is highly welcome from all users
