Unforgotten Minute: NYS Pavilion
How creative collaboration is leading the path towards restoration for a historic Queens icon
The NYS State Pavilion was originally built as a spectacular public structure at the 1964 Worlds Fair in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Designed by architect Philip Johnson as an icon for the world to see, the Pavilion was visited by millions before it slipped into the realm of the forgotten.
Today, the restoration process is underway at the Pavilion, but the iconic structure remains inaccessible to the public.
