Eight time World Champion Joe Beaver, was the 1985 Resistol Rookie of the Year in the Calf Roping as well as the World Champion Calf roper. A feat that had never been done in professional rodeo. The Thomas and Mack arena in Las Vegas Nevada is commonly called "The House that Joe built.' No-one electrified crowds at Las Vegas in the timed events like Joe Beaver.
