In this video we'll directly compare the performance of Nvidia's DLSS 3 frame generation to that of AMD's FSR 3 frame generation in Immortals of Aveum when it comes to frame rate, as well as input latency (input lag).
Immortals of Aveum supports both frame generation technologies so it is ideal for comparisons.
FSR 3 Frame Generation requires FSR AA or FSR upscaling to be enabled in both games that officially support it, while DLSS 3 can be enabled with any upscaler, or at native resolution, except here in this game.
FSR 3 works on most newer graphics cards, and is officially support on RTX 20 series and up GPUs, as well as RX 5000 series and up.
FSR 3 should not be confused with AMD's Fluid Motion Frames, as AFMF is a driver-side frame generator that works completely different to FSR 3. FSR 3 has to be implemented by the game developers, whereas AFMF support for a game has to be built into AMD's drivers. It is also recommended to disable VRR when using FSR 3 and make use of v-sync, whereas DLSS 3 works perfectly fine with VRR monitors.
