The important phrasal verb "To fall for..."
Welcome to this English lesson on phrasal verbs. This is one of the videos in a series of English classes where I will help you learn phrasal verbs. In English, phrasal verbs are quite common. Although you can get by without saying them, you'll really need to know them when reading and having conversations.
In this English lesson we will learn the phrasal verb "To fall for". You can say both 'to fall for something' and 'to fall for someone', but be careful! They mean different things.
To fall for something means to be tricked into believing something that is not true. "I'm surprised you fell for that trick."
To fall for someone means you are strongly attracted to them and start loving them. "He was fantastically handsome–I just fell for him right away."
