MONSE Director Shantay Jackson, who oversees Safe Streets program, resigns from post

Shantay Jackson is resigning from her post as the leader of the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement, also known as MONSE, according to several sources.


Hours after the story broke, Mayor Brandon Scott and Director Jackson released a lengthy statement confirming the news, noting Jackson's resignation is effective June 30, 2023. In the statement, Mayor Scott praised Jackson for her efforts leading MONSE.
