Approximating pi in modern times: Machin to google cloud computing
In this vid, I briefly show how pi was calculated from John Machin's time up to today where people are using Chudnovsky algorithm and cloud computing to calculate a ridiculous amount of digits of pi.
Correction around 12 mins, slide 14: In 1989 the Chudnovsky Brothers used their algorithm for that computation not a variation of Machin's formula I think the 1999 record would of also used a differing algorithm. That should of been mentioned on the slide and in the vid.
