One of my favorite things about the restaurant scene in Minneapolis, and the Twin Cities in general, is the influx of authentic cuisine restaurants that we've seen over the past 10+ years. Del Sur Empanadas is a prime example. We're talking crazy fresh empanadas, authentic South American food, and a great vibe. You've gotta check this place out!
DelSur Empanadas, the Twin Cities’ first Argentinian Empanada restaurant, opened for business on Thursday, November 8th 2018.
Owned and operated by Argentine natives Diego Montero and Nicolas Nikolov, also owners of the successful DelSur Empanadas and Lomitos Food Truck since 2014.
Nico and Diego have shared a friendship for many years, but it is their passion for their culture that inspired these two friends to bring to Minneapolis a piece of their beloved Argentina through its cuisine.
Their background in traditional family owned neighborhood restaurants back home in the cities of Cordoba and Buenos Aires respectively, give Diego and Nico the perfect balance of formal culinary education and experience.
