In 1964, Russian astrophysicist Nikolai Kardashev figured that civilizations can be categorized by the total amount of energy available to them. He defined three levels of civilizations based on their capacity to harness and use power.
The My02cent Civilization scale as further modified and carefully expanded upon them to account for Trans-Dimensional Civilization as well. Kardashev original three have been completely modified to include five more types. The Kardashev Scale, as it is called, now lists 20 different types or categories of civilizations based on the full regress of their extent.
