Games originally had only one way to make money, this was from the premium business model. A fixed price for the games This forced game companies to make good games in order to sell them. In the last 2 decades, most companies have gone for a live service approach. Either freemium or premium but would upsell through microtransaction. This approach worked financially but ultimately killed gaming.
