Alan Sherpard
Alan Shepard (1923–1998) was the first American in space, flying aboard Freedom 7 on May 5, 1961.
He later commanded Apollo 14 in 1971, becoming the fifth person to walk on the Moon and famously hitting golf balls on the lunar surface.
Shepard was a key figure in early U.S. space exploration.
