"Planting a Steel Garden" tells the story of how I came to begin making my documentary film, "The Steel Garden": A movie that tells the story and examines the life of Tennessee outsider artist Billy Tripp while documenting a year of his work on his massive, ever-expanding steel sculpture, The Mindfield.
